Srinagar | October 20: Police on Tuesday said the Jammu & Kashmir Government has issued orders for the resumption of the 154-year-old Durbar Move tradition, scheduling the closing of key offices in Srinagar and their reopening in Jammu.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Police said the General Administration Department (GAD) has announced that offices observing a five-day week will close in Srinagar on October 30, while those observing a six-day week will close on October 31, with both reopening in Jammu on November 2. The Civil Secretariat, housing the Chief Minister, Ministers, and top officials, will move in full alongside 40 departments, while 50 other offices will move in camp carrying a maximum of 33% staff or 10 officials.
The GAD has instructed the Jammu & Kashmir Road Transport Corporation to provide adequate buses for transit on October 31 and November 1. Additionally, a special Move T.A. of Rs 25,000 will be disbursed to each moving employee, provided they relocate within the prescribed timeline.
