Smart Meters, Dumb Outages: Kashmir’s New Summer Vibe
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegramEmail

Srinagar: Kashmir is finally giving its rich historic architecture a desperately needed facelift, proving that even centuries-old brickwork eventually gets tired of holding up modern civic ego. Armed with millions in fresh government conservation grants, enthusiastic restoration teams are scrambling to save ancient shrines, rusty forts, and crumbling natural springs before they fully surrender to gravity. Local residents are thrilled, though mostly relieved that their beloved historic neighborhood landmarks might actually stop leaking during the seasonal downpours.

Preserving Kashmir’s heritage, however, is certainly no casual stroll through a pristine Mughal garden. Skilled craftsmen are meticulously mixing traditional mud mortar while attempting to decode dusty architectural blueprints that look suspiciously like tea-stained napkins. Meanwhile, opportunistic neighborhood goats continue to treat centuries-old ruins as exclusive VIP lounge areas, completely unimpressed by high-level cultural significance. If all goes according to plan, these grand monuments will stand proud for another millennium—or at least until someone mounts a massive satellite dish onto a medieval fortress wall.
