Reasi :A meeting of the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) and District Consultative Committee (DCC) for the quarter ended March 2026 was held Tuesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek.

The meeting reviewed the overall performance of the banking sector with regard to credit flow, financial inclusion initiatives, implementation of government-sponsored schemes and progress under social security programmes.

The Lead District Manager presented a detailed review of banking activities. The committee discussed the Credit-Deposit Ratio and stressed the need for banks to enhance lending in priority sectors such as agriculture, allied activities, education, housing and MSMEs.

Deputy Commissioner Kumar Abhishek directed banks to make concerted efforts to improve the flow of institutional credit to farmers, entrepreneurs, self-help groups and youth seeking self-employment opportunities.

The meeting also reviewed implementation of major financial inclusion schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana. The committee assessed credit linkage of Self Help Groups under the National Rural Livelihood Mission and stressed the need to strengthen financial support for women-led enterprises and livelihood activities.

The Agriculture and allied departments were directed to submit agro-sector cases to banks for timely processing and approval and to hold regular interactions with banks and farmers to address issues on priority. Banks were directed to conduct awareness camps to promote financial inclusion and educate the public about government-sponsored financial schemes, with officers concerned facilitating on-the-spot services during such camps, including account opening and registration of eligible beneficiaries.

Among those present were the Chief Planning Officer, representatives from the Reserve Bank of India and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Lead District Manager and other senior officers.
