I want to publish my view through columns of your leading newspaper in Kashmir on digital drugs reminding it that alarming rise in youth suicides linked to Korean gaming addiction is a dire wake up call . Below mentioned are my views on the subject:-
Urgent Curb on Digital Drugs needed
The alarming rise in youth suicides linked to Korean gaming addiction is a dire wake up call. We are witnessing the emergence of a Digital Drug an obsession with K pop, K dramas & immersive games that has seen a staggering 300% surge in Indian consumption over two years.This hyper stylized content often blurs the line between fiction and reality trapping adolescents in a cycle of isolation and depression. Beyond the erosion of academic focus and cultural identity, these platforms exploit psychological vulnerabilities. The government must move beyond passive observation to implement strict regulations on OTT content and ban predatory gaming apps. Protecting our youth from this digital contagion is no longer an option it is a necessity for our social fabric.
