Fresh cases for compassionate appointment of terror victims under SRO-43 recommended

Srinagar : In a continued effort to swiftly resolve and dispose-off cases filed under SRO-43 by the next of kins (NoKs) of terror-affected victims in Srinagar district, a meeting of the District Level Screening-cum-Coordination Committee (DLSCC) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Monday in his office chamber, here.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Sandeep Chakravarthy was also present in the meeting.
The meeting focused on reviewing applications filed under SRO-43 and to recommend eligible individuals for compassionate appointments in accordance with laid guidelines.
At the outset, the Committee conducted a comprehensive review of the cases/claims submitted under SRO-43 by NoKs of those affected by terror related incidents in Srinagar district.
After a detailed scrutiny of the applications/cases, the Committee recommended fresh cases of Srinagar district to the Government for consideration for compassionate appointment under the provisions of SRO-43.
On the occasion, DC emphasized the importance of timely and transparent processing of such cases. He directed all concerned officers to ensure speedy disposal in a time-bound manner so that victim families receive relief without any delay.
Underscoring the importance of a transparent and expeditious process, DC instructed the stakeholder departments to expedite the examination of remaining cases, complete all necessary formalities, and ensure timely verification to facilitate swift appointments in favour of the victim families.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Aadil Fareed; SP Headquarter, Umar Shah; Additional SP CID, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, District Social Welfare Officer, all the Tehsildars, senior officers from security agencies, besides other concerned.
