Udhampur | October, 16: A 29-year-old woman sustained severe injuries after being attacked by a wild bear in the Nalliyan area of Panchari tehsil in Udhampur district.
Officials said the victim, identified as Kamlesh Devi of Chulna village, was working in her field when the wild animal attacked her. Locals rushed to her rescue and shifted her to Primary Health Centre Panchari for preliminary treatment.
Due to the nature of her injuries, doctors subsequently referred her to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Udhampur, for specialized medical care. Local authorities have taken cognizance of the incident as residents demand immediate preventive action against wild animal intrusions.
