Srinagar: Flood alarms have been activated across Kashmir, prompting many residents to gather along the banks of the Jhelum and other water bodies to observe the rising water levels. In Srinagar, particularly in the Rajbagh area, crowds formed as people watched the river exceed flood marks, blending concern with curiosity.
A caller from Rajbagh encapsulated the atmosphere by expressing his intent to witness the water firsthand. Despite the alarming situation, officials from the Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) department reassured the public that there was no need for panic, as emergency response teams were on standby and actively monitoring the conditions. However, for the residents at the river’s edge, the rising waters represented more than just statistics; it was a compelling event that drew their attention and prompted them to document the moment.
