“Modi’s Gurantee To J&K”: Statehood, Assembly Elections
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegramEmail

Amidst resounding applause from a massive gathering, Prime Minister Narendra Modi articulated a profound vision for Jammu and Kashmir, foreseeing the imminent return of Assembly elections and the reinstatement of its statehood.  Speaking passionately at the Modi Ground rally, Prime Minister Modi stirred the crowd with the promise of renewed engagement between the people and their elected representatives. The Prime Minister’s assertion comes against the backdrop of significant political upheaval in the region. Following the last Assembly elections in 2014, the BJP withdrew support from the Mehbooba Mufti-led government in June 2018. Subsequently, on August 5, 2019, the BJP government took the monumental step of revoking Article 370, leading to the bifurcation of the state into the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Addressing the multitude, Prime Minister Modi pledged comprehensive resolution of all societal issues in Jammu and Kashmir, marking a decisive departure from past grievances. Prime Minister boldly proclaimed the fulfillment of the promise to alleviate the long-standing suffering of the region’s populace, while challenging opposition parties, particularly the Congress, to reinstate Article 370 if they dare. Highlighting the transformative journey of Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Modi underscored the profound shift from fear and uncertainty to hope and progress. Emphasizing the remarkable strides made in security and development, he assured the audience of a future characterized by prosperity and opportunity. Modi’s campaign trail in Udhampur, alongside stalwarts like Dr. Jitendra Singh and Jugal Kishore Sharma, symbolized the party’s unwavering commitment to the region’s development. The overwhelming turnout at the rally, with many listening attentively from outside the stadium, reflected the profound resonance of Modi’s message. In his trademark style, Prime Minister Modi invoked the region’s cultural identity, commencing his speech in Dogri and eliciting spirited responses from the crowd. Reflecting on his enduring connection with Jammu and Kashmir, Modi reminisced about past visits and articulated his ambitious vision for its future.

“Prime Minister boldly proclaimed the fulfillment of the promise to alleviate the long-standing suffering of the region’s populace, while challenging opposition parties, particularly the Congress, to reinstate Article 370 if they dare. Highlighting the transformative journey of Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Modi underscored the profound shift from fear and uncertainty to hope and progress. Modi’s campaign trail in Udhampur, alongside stalwarts like Dr. Jitendra Singh and Jugal Kishore Sharma, symbolized the party’s unwavering commitment to the region’s development.”

With a blend of nostalgia and optimism, Prime Minister Modi painted a vibrant picture of a revitalized Jammu and Kashmir, poised to become a beacon of progress and innovation. He vowed to accelerate infrastructure projects and attract investments, heralding a new era of economic prosperity and social harmony. As the rally concluded, Prime Minister Modi left an indelible imprint on the hearts and minds of the people, reaffirming his unwavering resolve to realize the aspirations of every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir.  With his words echoing across the valley, the promise of a brighter tomorrow beckons, invigorating the spirit of a resilient region on the cusp of transformation. Modi said lots of tourists and people on pilgrimages are visiting Jammu and Kashmir, which is something the locals have always wanted. He thinks the best thing about this is that people are feeling more hopeful instead of sad now. He promised to keep working hard to make India better by 2047, and he’s determined to fix the problems in Jammu and Kashmir that have been around for 60 years. He made fun of Congress leaders for living in big houses while the idol of Ram was kept in a tent. People struggled to keep the tent from leaking during the rainy season, facing threats of court cases. Modi reminded everyone that building the temple wasn’t easy, but now it’s real after centuries of waiting. It went through the courts and was paid for by regular people, not the government. Modi criticized opposition leaders, asserting that the trustees of the temple had forgiven them for their previous opposition to the shrine, yet they declined invitations extended to them, which he deemed as part of an election strategy.  He questioned the Congress party’s stance on the temple issue, accusing them of arrogance and ignoring the sentiments of Lord Ram’s devotees. Highlighting instances of leaders consuming meat during the holy month of Sawan and making videos of the act, Modi condemned such actions as an insult to the country’s people. He referenced Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Lalu Prasad’s house and criticized the making and sharing of a video showing the consumption of mutton. While emphasizing that everyone has the freedom to choose their diet, Modi suggested that the intentions behind such actions were malicious, drawing parallels to the satisfaction derived by Mughals from vandalizing temples. He accused the leaders of teasing the people and consolidating their vote banks by releasing such videos during important religious occasions. Modi further stated that consuming non-vegetarian food during Navratri and publicizing it hurt people’s sentiments, asserting his duty to speak out against such behavior in a democracy.  He accused these leaders of intentionally provoking a large section of the population and labeled them as having a “Mughal mindset,” unaware that public backlash could lead to their sidelining. In conclusion, Modi urged the public not to give opportunities to dynastic parties and corrupt individuals, emphasizing the need to stand against such behavior.

“PM’s  announcement, delivered at a significant election rally at Modi Ground in support of BJP candidate Dr. Jitendra Singh for the Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary seat, resonated with the enthusiastic applause of the massive gathering. Modi emphasized the transformative changes since the last assembly elections in 2014, particularly following the revocation of Article 370 in August 2019.  He assured the people that their grievances would be addressed and outlined ambitious plans for infrastructure development and economic growth”.

Kashmir Horizon View: Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared this week that Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are on the horizon, signaling the eventual restoration of its statehood and the empowerment of citizens to engage directly with their elected representatives.  PM’s  announcement, delivered at a significant election rally at Modi Ground in support of BJP candidate Dr. Jitendra Singh for the Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary seat, resonated with the enthusiastic applause of the massive gathering. Modi emphasized the transformative changes since the last assembly elections in 2014, particularly following the revocation of Article 370 in August 2019.  He assured the people that their grievances would be addressed and outlined ambitious plans for infrastructure development and economic growth.  Transitioning to another topic, Modi addressed the Ram temple issue, affirming its significance as a matter of faith for millions of Indians. He rebuked the opposition for politicizing the temple’s construction and accused them of disrespecting sentiments.  Through his impassioned address, Modi sought to rally support for the BJP’s vision for a prosperous and harmonious India, urging citizens to prioritize development over divisive politics.
