Kolhapur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugrated new terminal building of Kolhapur Airport virtually from Uttar Pradesh along with other 14 airports projects, costing more than Rs 9,800 crore, set up in seven states and Union Territories in the country.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who was present specially at Kolhapur airport, inspected new building of Kolhapur Airport and expressed that this airport will play an important role in tourism development of the district.
Kolhapur airport was established by Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj in 1939 and travellers will be able to see culture and heritage of the district in a visual form in new terminal building inaugurated today.
