New Delhi|Sept, 16: The government has declared Shahzad Bhatti Network as a terrorist organisation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The terrorist group is involved in smuggling of arms, explosives and narcotics across borders, apart from inciting youths and petty criminals into terrorism. The Union Home Ministry has issued gazette notification in this regard. The syndicate has also published hateful digital content, targeting India’s democratic structure and the fabric of communal harmony. The Home Ministry said, pursuing the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of zero tolerance against terror, it has declared the Shahzad Bhatti Network as a terrorist organisation under the UAPA.
