New Delhi | October, 31: Air Chief Marshal Ashutosh Dixit has assumed office as the 29th Chief of the Air Staff, taking over from Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, who superannuated after 42 years of distinguished service.
Reports said AP Singh’s tenure was marked by enhanced combat readiness during ‘Operation Sindoor’ and a steady push toward domestic defense innovation, technological integration, and personnel accountability.
The newly appointed Air Chief, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy commissioned in 1986, brings nearly four decades of flight testing and operational leadership experience. Official sources said Dixit has logged over 3,300 flying hours on various fighters including the Mirage-2000, MiG variants, and Jaguar. He previously played a critical role in the flight testing of the LCA Mk-I Tejas and held key operational commands across multiple air commands.
