Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh): Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday urged the students community to follow teachings of their parents and teachers by giving them due respect to lead a proper and happier life.

Speaking after inaugurating the 500th center of ‘Ek Se Shrestha’ at the police lines here, he said that this programme is meant to give a positive form to human power.

The biggest center of change in the world is that every human being gets a good opportunity to shine his talent.

He said Gas connections are to be given to 10 crore women, it has been given. I look at it from a different perspective. When you strengthen a woman you don’t strengthen an individual, you don’t strengthen a family, you strengthen a society. You prepare the next generation and build the future of the country.

During his speech, he hinted at the HP Governor and said that when Chandrayaan-3 reached the Moon on 23rd August 2023 and there his name (pointing towards Himachal Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla) became immortal as Shiv Shakti Point.

Similarly, I have a love and affection for Anurag Thakur and his family. He said, it happened in 1990. I was a Minister at the Centre. It was my great fortune that I was a member of Parliament along with Mr. Prem Dhumal ji. On his request and on his initiative, I had the privilege of launching the first flight in Dharamshala.

Then Shanta Kumar ji was the Chief Minister and Dhumal Saheb was the MP. From then till today I have had a lively relationship with this family, but Anurag ji has taken this relationship to a much deeper level.

Ever since I became the Vice President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, there has not been a single session when I have not had the privilege of welcoming the children of this place, I have discussed with them, and I have the highest number of caps in my house which is from Himachal, Dhankhar said.

He said,”Anurag is a Sanskrit name and it means love and devotion. There is love, devotion and determination”.

The Vice President said,” It is not easy to become a member of Parliament for four consecutive terms. Anurag ji has done this work by fulfilling one responsibility after another, fearlessly, with determination, keeping public welfare in mind.

Impressed by the children here, I did two things. I told the honorable members of Parliament to adopt the Anurag model of development for boys & girls”.

He said,” Boys and girls, I would urge you that we should never forget our values. Always respect your parents. Always respect your teacher. Your teachers shape you for the future.

Dhankhar said,”as soon as I came here , a slogan echoed here “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. Just think what has happened in the last 48 hours, a foreign ship was hijacked in the sea. There were our Indians in it.

To free those Indians. Our Navy’s warship went, successfully rescued them and also rescued others. They were the first to say – Bharat Mata ki Jai. Among the seamen, they felt that it was the leadership of the country which immediately sent four Navy warships to rescue them. Went and saved successfully, and this is changing India”.

The programs they have done are ‘health, upliftment of education, Bharat Darshan, focus on sports,’ all these programs are important for integrated development of a child, or a young person. Boys and girls, that’s why I thank them, they deserve my gratitude, but even more, I thank those children for how positive their thinking is! What a glow we saw on his face! They are amazing performers!, the Vice President said.

Union Information cum Broadcasting Minister Anuarg Thakur, the originator of the programme, HP Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and State cabinet minister, Rajendra Dharmani were also present in the function
