Improving the infrastructure in the Downtown area, while maintaining the authenticity of the environment. This includes enhancements to roads, utilities, and public spaces.
Showcasing the cultural and historical significance of the region to attract tourists and promote cultural tourism. This will not only provide an economic boost but also raise awareness about the rich heritage.

But with the passage of time, the heritage ghats along the river had fallen into a state of disrepair, their historical significance fading away. The city’s lifeline, the Jhelum River, had become a forgotten relic, hidden from the bustling life of the streets above.

The restoration project brought together architects, historians, and craftsmen, each passionate about preserving the past and embracing the future. The work began at dawn and continued until dusk, as layers of neglect and modern interventions were stripped away to reveal the grandeur of the ghats.
The transformative efforts being undertaken underline the city’s commitment to ensuring that generations to come can experience the charm, beauty, and cultural heritage that define Srinagar’s Downtown region.
