Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Nagar (Chhattisgarh): Erstwhile Congress president Sonia Gandhi said on Saturday that she is elated over the fact that the Bharat Jodo Yatra coincided with the culmination of her tenure at the helm of the party.
In her address on day two of the party’s 85th Plenary Session here in the presence of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and former head Rahul Gandhi, she said, “The Yatra has emerged as a vital turning point and proved that the people of India are desirous of harmony, tolerance and equality. It refreshed the glorious heritage of communication between our party and the people through the medium of public relations programmes. It was made abundantly and universally clear that the Congress stands with the masses and is prepared to struggle for them. I express gratitude towards Mr Rahul whose resolve and leadership played a key role in the Yatra’s success.”
