New Delhi: Anjuman-e-Haideri – a Muslim organisation – on Monday claimed that a letter issued by Land & Development Office, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs to take 123 properties of Delhi Waqf Board violates Waqf Act provisions/
Addressing a press conference at Karbala Jor Bagh in New Delhi, Syed Bahadur Abbas Naqvi, general secretary, Anjuman-e-Haideri alleged that the attempt to snatch 123 waqf properties appears to be more of connivance than negligence of Waqf chairman.
Anjuman-e-Haideri (AEH) members claimed that the letter of chairman Delhi Waqf Board clearly accepts that the Waqf board did not file any objection despite opportunities before the two member committee. This acceptance will further damage the Waqf interest. This is also a “deliberate lie” as various mutawallis of Delhi Waqf Board including Anjuman-e-Haideri were actively filing their objections for different Waqf properties both on law and facts.
“Anjuman-e-Haideri will file a police complaint against Delhi Waqf Board chairman for hatching a conspiracy to usurp Waqf property and using these properties for political gain,” claimed Naqvi.
“Delhi Waqf Board chairman did not bring this crucial issue regarding 123 Waqf properties to the notice of the board no agenda regarding this was made formulated for any of the board meetings nor was any resolution passed,” claimed Mehmood Pracha, advocate.
“’Once a Waqf is always a Waqf is well settled by various judicial pronouncements, we will not let the waqf properties be usurped,” said Maulana Kalbe Jawad, chief patron, AEH.
