Sukma (Chhattisgarh): A security forces helicopter was forced to land at Elmagunda village after being struck by rebel ground fire during a massive anti-Naxal operation against Maoist commander Hidma in Left-wing extremism-affected Bastar division.
Sources told UNI that Hidma sustained a gunshot injury and the ultras suffered heavy casualties though there is no official word yet regarding this angle.
The operation’s ‘ground zero’ is Kumartong. It is situated 12 km from Chintalnar in the vicinity of which 75 CRPF personnel attained martyrdom on April 6, 2010. It was deadliest attack of its kind in the state’s history.
