Hyderabad: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday visited Krishnam Raju’s house situated at Jubilee Hills here and consoled his family members.
Former Union Minister of State for Defence and External Affairs and Popular Telugu Actor Uppalapati Venkata Krishna Raju died due to cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment at AIG Hospitals in Gachibowli here in the early hours of Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Defence Minister said that the death of Krishna Raju is a huge loss for the film industry.
He recalled that Krishnam Raju was my dear friend. Whenever we met he (Krishnam Raju) spoke warmly.
” I met Krishnam Raju for the first time in 1998 when he was elected as a member of Parliament and came to Delhi. He was close to me when he became minister during Prime Minister Vajpayee’s Government, ” he said.
The Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will attend and spoke as the chief guest at Krishna Raju’s condolence meeting organized at the JRC Convention in the evening under the auspices of Kshatriya Seva Samiti, official sources said.
Earlier, he was received by Union Culture and Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and BJP National Executive Committee Member Vivek Venkataswamy.
