New Delhi  : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested two people, including a councillor of East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC), in an alleged bribery case. The councillor has been identified as Geeta Rawat of Ward 10-E, EDMC and other accused as Bilal. A case was registered on complaint against the Municipal Councillor and an unknown person on the allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs 20,000 from complainant for extending his favour to lay the roof of his building in an unhindered manner, CBI spokesperson said. On the basis of complaint, CBI laid a trap and caught them while the complainant on the specific directions of the accused handed over the alleged bribe amount of Rs 20,000 to a vendor (operating near the office of the said councillor) and the same was recovered from him, CBI said. Searches are being conducted at the premises of the accused. Both will be produced before the Court in Delhi.
