Rajouri : An awareness program cum demonstration on value-added products was organized by JKNRLM in collaboration with the Horticulture Department here at BMMU Manjakote. As many as fifty members of the Self Help Groups participated in the camp.
The resource persons including Sunil Mahnoori; Tasleem Arief; Rajinder Kumar; Hans Raj and Mohd Ashraf made the participants aware of many income-generating activities and urged them to avail themselves of the benefits of the same.
District Level Subject Matter Specialist (POMOLOGY), Jyoti Prakash disseminated detailed information about the feasibility of various fruit plantations in Manjakote block and schemes of the horticulture department including Ultra High-Density Apple plantation, MIDH, PMKSY, PMPD, SMAM and other schemes being implemented by the Horticulture Department in the district.
They also demonstrated the techniques of value addition in horticulture products and explained the techniques of making Jam and Pickle.
They also assured that such awareness programs will continue to organise in near future for SHGs, VOs and CLFs
