Athar directs expedited tendering, time-bound execution of dev works
Budgam, : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial progress of works approved under the District Capex 2026-27.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed department-wise review of the progress of works being executed by various departments, including Rural Development Department (RDD), Public Works Department (PWD), Minor Irrigation, Youth Services and Sports, Health, Education, Jal Shakti, Ground Water, Power Development Department (PDD), JAKEDA and other concerned departments.
The DC directed all executing agencies to expedite the preparation and completion of estimates and ensure 100 percent tendering of approved works, so that projects are taken up for execution without delay.
He stressed the need for close monitoring of both physical and financial progress and directed the concerned officers to ensure timely and quality completion of works within the prescribed timelines. He also called for regular field inspections and effective supervision to identify and address any gaps or shortcomings promptly.
Emphasising the importance of achieving the prescribed physical and financial targets, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to maintain close coordination among departments, accelerate the pace of execution and ensure adherence to approved timelines and quality standards. He further called upon the concerned officers to maintain continuous monitoring of ongoing projects and ensure that bottlenecks, if any, are resolved promptly for smooth and timely implementation of the District Capex programme.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Executive Engineers of R&B, PDD and other engineering departments, Block Development Officers, Assistant Executive Engineers and other concerned officers.
