Ramban : Department of Political Science, Government Degree College, Ukhral Friday organized a seminar on the theme “Equality, Reducing Inequalities, Advancing Human Rights” to mark the observance of ‘International Human Rights Day’.
The day is observed every year on 10th of December to create awareness among the people about their rights and privileges as human beings. A large number of students participated in this programme and presented their valuable views on the topic.
The Programme was presided over by the Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Ranvijay Singh.
In his inaugural address, the Principal emphasized on the importance of disseminating awareness about Human Rights t so that the people can develop the habit of mutual trust and faith.
HOD Political Science, Prof. Zakir Hussain was keynote speaker on the occasion, who delivered a detailed lecture on the human rights that are enshrined in the UN Charter of Human Rights and said that human beings are born free and share equal rights.
Earlier, Dr. Shafiq Ahmed Katoch, HOD Urdu welcomed the guests and audience on the occasion. The program culminated with the vote of thanks presented by Dr. Altaf Rasool HOD Education. The program was moderated by Prof. Rafia Beig HoD Sociology.
