DDC Member Kakapora reviews implementation of CSSs, Flagship progs at Pulwama

Pulwama: The District Development Council, Member Kakapora, Abdul Quyoom Mir Tuesday convened a meeting here to review the progress made under various centrally sponsored schemes, flagship programmes being implemented by the Agriculture department in the district.
Among others the meeting was attended by DDC Member, Tral Manzoor Ahmad, Chief Agriculture Officer, and concerned officers.
The Chief Agriculture Officer informed the chair a total of 54,000 Farm operating families are there in the district and the target under KCC stands achieved.
In the meeting, a detailed sector wise review was held which mainly includes farm machinery, distribution of quality seeds, per drop per crop under PMKSY, Fodder development scheme, Fasal Bima Yojana, KCC, PM-Kissan, Status of different schemes under execution, physical and financial achievements etc discussed in detail.
While reviewing the sector wise performance of Agriculture and allied sectors in the district, the DDC member asked the officers of Agriculture to create awareness among the masses about the different income generating schemes by organizing camps in rural areas. He laid stress on enhancing the production of mushroom, honey, saffron, etc by encouraging the farming community about the cultivation of these crops.
The DDC member stressed upon the officers to rejuvenate their efforts for achievement of optimum results on the ground so that the benefits of development percolate to the masses at grass roots level.
He stressed upon the agriculture department to coordinate with the elected representative for generating awareness among the farmers.
He said that participation in the planning process is mandatory for the department for implementation of govt. schemes so that benefits of schemes reach to genuine beneficiaries.
