Official sources said that after finding something suspicious, a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team was called immediately.
They said that a BDS squad of 73 bn reached the spot, and nearly six to seven grenades were found near the QAT bunker.
“During the routine road opening exercise, along NH 44, the alert troopers of 73 recovered 6 chinese grenades from a sandbag placed on the divider of the road. The alertness of troops averted an incident on the busy highway,” an official statement from CRPF reads.
“Since, there was a lot of rush on the highway, the grenades were not demolished in-situ. The grenades were handed over to the police for disposal,” it said
