B’pora: Residents of this north Kashmir’s village believe that good road leads to development but the daily commuters are facing with massive ordeal as most of the roads of this village pass through potholes and the department concerned is giving deaf ear to their pleas.

The residents of Brar, Malikpora Bandipora are up in arms against the Roads and buildings department for failing to repair and widening of the Brar-Malikpora road subjecting the residents of a dozen villages to extreme hardships due to the dilapidated condition of the road.

Locals told that the 2-kilometers stretch of road from Brar main stop to Malikpora Chitteybandy is in shambles and dotted with potholes giving trouble to the travelers. The road also leads to famous Shrine. They said that the distance that can be covered in ten minutes is covered in more than half an hour owing to potholes all over the road.

Mudasir Ahmad Sofi a resident of Brar said that they are suffering due to the indifferent attitude of the local administration towards the village and they are least bothered about their health and hygiene as bumpy roads have become hazardous for them.

We are facing serious problems from past 5 years due to the dilapidated condition of vital road stretch from Brar to Malikpora chitteybandy which is also the lone route for shrine, as few elements have encroached the half portion of road and we are not able to pass two vehicles in one time.

Gowher Ahmad a local of the Malikpora village said the condition of the road from Brar is in deplorable condition and it is painful for us especially patients.

“The half portion of road was macdamized before few years but now the whole scretch of road got denaged. Since then, nobody is paying any attention towards it and the road is in shambles,” the locals said.
Locals urged authorities to look into the matter and macdamize the road at an earliest.

Residents urge the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to look into the matter on priority basis.
