B’Pora: Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora Mohammad Zahid on Thursday said that fighting social evil in society especially Drug menace is the top priority of Bandipora Police.
Talking to this reporter, SSP Bandipora said the menace of drug addiction is a serious threat that is consuming the youngsters of our society. He said every concerned citizen especially parents need to worry about it.
He said the Bandipora Police will fight this menace and sought support of the local masses in eradicating this menace. He said it is impossible for Police to fight the menace without the active support of the general public. He said the menace concerns us all as it can be anybody’s son or daughter who can get indulged in it if we don’t eradicate this menace. He urged the parents to keep a watch on their wards so that they don’t fall prey to this menace.
SSP Bandipora said he also held a meeting with the members of District Development Council and other members of Panchayat Raj Institutions wherein they discussed this issue threadbare. He said they will devise a strategy in consultation with the local representatives so that an all out war is launched against drug peddling and drug abuse. He appealed people to cooperate with the police as true information received from the public is useful in preventing crime.
