Sport is a magical word, which heals all the wounds.It is an activity involving physical exertion and skills in which an individual or team competes against one another. It is adorned with lifelong entertainment. Sports teaches us how to live with differences, to learn the value of others, to respect others and to deal with frustrations daily.Every individual is directly or indirectly bound with it. Hundreds of sports exist, from those requiring only two participants, through to those with hundreds of simultaneous participants, either in teams or competing as individuals.sport is a major source of entertainment for non-participants. Sports are powerful tools and have proved to bridge gaps in communities and give people hope. Sports bring competition; teach morality, integrity and ambition. But most of all, they bring us hope. Sports give us faith to live another day. We see our favorite athletes, and we are amazed by them, and it gives us a sense of hope that no matter what challenges or hurdles we have in our daily lives, we can conquer them all. Sports, with their impact and influence, have always had a place in society. There can be many instrumental development objectives and lessons realized through sports. Their value is sometimes underestimated, but as anyone knows who has ever been to any sporting event, it can literally reshape the foundation of a community. Many assistance programs use sports to reach people to tell them about important development issues such as awareness, drug-and-alcohol education, prevention, charitable functions, advertisement, etc. Sports provide a venue for children to learn, practice, and develop their gross motor skills. The Center for Disease Control found there to be a positive correlation between students who participate in high levels of physical activity and improved academic achievement, decreased risk of heart disease and diabetes, improved weight control, and less psychological dysfunction, oppositely, children who are obese can often experience a diminished quality of life, difficulties learning, decreased self-confidence, and social discrimination . The World Health Organization estimates physical inactivity is responsible for close to 2 million deaths each year globally. It further estimates that fewer than one-third of young people in countries around the world are adequately active to benefit their present and future health and well-being.The most effective way to improve health is for communities to find ways to increase physical activity. Regular physical activity is important for building and maintaining healthy bones, muscles and joints. Acquiring better fitness levels also helps control feelings of anxiety and depression. It encourages other healthy behaviors, such as avoiding alcohol and drug use. Sports play an important role in the lives of girls and women. Physically active girls experience advantages in terms of health and overall well-being. It is imperative to promote exercise in females because the majority of girls do not take part in the recommended level of daily physical activity. Women who are physically active experience a reduced risk for breast cancer, osteoporosis, heart disease, and obesity. Drug abuse is a global health and social problem with conditions and problems that vary locally, and a prominent issue of mortality across the globe, thus consuming lives of millions of people. The use of psychoactive substances among adolescents and young adults has become a subject of public concern worldwide partly because of its potential to contribute to unintentional and intentional injury. Drug abuse and addiction has a universal phenomenon that extends across socioeconomic, cultural, religious and ethnic boundaries. Now a days our young generation takes that path which demolishes the culture of our society, strength , economy ,and precious life. In Kashmir today a growing number of young men become addicted. There are multiple reasons for the drug problem, which include lack of awareness, easy availability, pressure and living in a conflict zone. Medicinal opiates such as morphine and codeine or benzodiazepine . Codeine sulphate is very common in our valley, 60 percent students are addicted with this drug. College students both girls and boys are widely used tabbacco, codeine sulphate etc. Nowadays these drugs gets replaced by hard drugs like heroin and Cocaine, which carry greater health and financial risks.Drugs are chemicals that affect the body and brain. Different drugs can have different effects. Some effects of drugs include health consequences that are long-lasting and permanent. They can even continue after a person has stopped taking the substance. There are a few ways a person can take drugs, including injection, inhalation and ingestion. The effects of the drug on the body can depend on how the drug is delivered. Most harmful impact of drugs ie problems with memory, attention and decision-making, which make daily living more difficult. Now the question arises here that how we can stop this fire, which spreads everywhere. Psychologist believes that human brain responds according to will and stimulation. Now from this view point we can create a positive atmosphere through which we spread the awareness related drug abuse. Sport participation can play an important and positive role in the health and development of children and youth. One area that has recently been receiving greater attention is the role that sport participation might play in preventing drug and alcohol use among youth. Many schools work with parents and community members to establish programs that teach children the dangers of drug use or provide them with fun alternative activities.

Now it’s our responsibility to make some efforts by which this fire gets controlled otherwise it can burn everything. Join hands together, make some effort, and prevent our future generation. Schools use many other methods to help prevent substance abuse among students. Allowing students to sign pledges that they will not use drugs or alcohol, teaming up with law enforcement to get the message across, and establishing mentoring programs are all ways schools are using to prevent substance abuse. Sports the main weapon used by schools for the purpose to aware the students how harmful drugs are in district Ganderbal, Vijay memorial educational institute organised a cricket tournament in every year, whose motive is just to spread the awareness among the students, and school slogan is (sports in drugs out). In district Ganderbal number of cricket tournament was organised by this fact that spread the awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and engage youth with different kinds of sports. Taking part in sport can help us feel fitter, healthier and mentally strong, and that is just the start of it. Sport can also be fun, especially when played as part of a team or with family or friends. Sport brings together a mixture of people from different communities, backgrounds, religions and beliefs. Sport can offer a new way to meet others that you may not interact with day to day. As a result, you can make new friends. And who knows, playing a sport might even open new career and business opportunities for you. When you are physically active your mind gets a chance to unplug from daily stresses and strains of life. Physical exercise reduces the stress hormones in your body and stimulates the release of endorphins. These endorphins may give you more energy and focus for whatever life has.
