Man booked, arrested for objectionable comments on facebook

Rajouri: Police in Rajouri district on Wednesday booked and arrested a man for his ‘sensitive’ and ‘objectionable’ comments on Facebook.
District Police Rajouri in an official statement issued on Wednesday said that information was received that a social media user Balkrishan Bhat of Rajouri has made some sensitive and objectionable comments on Facebook, which were reviewed by the social media monitoring unit of police.
“Taking cognizance of the matter, a case under FIR number 294/2020 under sections 153A and 295A have been registered in Police Station Rajouri against the person who has been arrested,” police said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri, Chandan Kohli said that no post or comments having sensitive nature should be made. “It is the collective responsibility of all the citizens to play their role in maintaining peace,” SSP said.
“There is a zero tolerance policy towards those who violate the law by any objectionable and sensitive post on social media platforms,” SSP said –
