DC Budgam inspects Covid-19 wellness centre Khansahib

Budgam : The Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Tuesday visited 50 bedded COVID-19 wellness center set up at Government Degree College, Khansahib to have on the spot assessment of the arrangements particularly steps taken to keep all wellness centers in and around clean and garbage free.
The DC was accompanied by SDM Khansahib, Syed Ahmad Kataria, Tehsildar Khansahib and other concerned officials.
The DC during his visit, halted at Kremshore, Budgam where he distributed masks among public & aware them regarding importance of social distancing in wake of COVID-19 crisis.
Later, the DC convened a meeting of Executive Officers (Eos) of all municipalities of the district where in a detailed review was taken about the arrangements. The concerned EOs informed the meeting about ensuring cleanliness, lifting and dumping of garbage on daily basis from these centers.
While taking strong note of laxity found in some quarantine centers in maintaining cleanliness and haphazard spread of garbage, the DC categorically reiterated that such tardy & callous approach shall not be tolerated at all.
During the meeting the DC directed all EOs to remain mentally prepared in treating inmates at all quarantine centers well under cordial atmosphere, in addition ensure that sanitation in wake of Covid-19 pandemic is carried out twice on daily basis at all quarantine & COVID-19 Wellness Centers. The DC further instructed that dustbins should be installed in and around all quarantine & COVID-19 Wellness centers and ensure that no garbage of any kind, liquid or solid is left unattended. He said current engagements amid Covid-19 emergency shall be treated on priority, for this we collectively have to work efficiently and with dedication. The DC urged that fumigation and sanitization of all centers shall be carried out efficiently.
The DC also took review of status of garbage dumping sites available in District Budgam.
