COVID-19: Sampling for media person, others held at Shopian

Shopian: The District Administration Shopian in collaboration with District Health Services Shopian organized a covid-19 sampling programme for journalists working in district Shopian, here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School. Better arrangements were put in place for collecting the samples.
Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin, said the initiative has been taken for the safety of the journalists who are working on frontline in this pandemic, by creating awareness among the people through print and electronic media, as reporting on Covid 19 is challenging task. He said Journalists are required to leave their home and work in difficult circumstances. He said journalists may be more vulnerable to contracting Covid19, and advised them to implement set of safety guidelines issued by WHO. He also said the administration is sure that the journalists will work with zeal and dedication so that the masses will get better awareness about the do’s and dont’s of the pandemic.
Some Samples of pregnant ladies and Shopkeepers have also been collected for the COVID 19 in the said Organized camp.
On the occasion, journalists thanked the district administration for organizing the safety measures for them and assured that they will work shoulder to shoulder with the Administration.
