Follow spirit of Islamic teachings , help underprivileged, pray for detainees: Qayoom Wani tells people

Srinagar: Former President Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) and Civil society leader Ab Qayoom Wani has greeted Muslim Umah in general and people of Jammu and Kashmir in particular on the eve of forthcoming Eid Ul Fitr. Advising people to learn lessons from the experiences of the holy month of Ramadan and follow the path of righteousness even after the holy month of Ramadan.
In his message of greetings Wani said “the holy Month of Ramadan has just passed but it taught us different lessons which prompts us to follow the path of righteousness and goodwill throughout the year”,adding that “holy month of Ramadan is a training session which shows us the right ways to face challenges throughout the year and follow the guidelines of Islam in letter and spirit” .
Impressing upon Muslims to bear in mind that Eid isn’t something to put on new clothes, have delicious meals but is an occasion to pray for happiness and end to unending tale of pain and sufferings, Wani said ” Eid can’t be celebrated happily unless we lent a helping hand to others living ingrief and distress” .
Calling upon muslims to celebrate this Eid happily and remember those innocents who have been put behind bars, Wani asked them to remember detainees and pray for them specially”. Wishing muslims to share their joy with their family members, Wani impressed upon them not forget the worldwide pain and sufferings of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic spread. Exhorting muslims to hold special prayers for end to ongoing pandemic spread, Wani said “we should share our sympathies with those declared Positive for COVID-19 and their families” .
Appealing affluent people and employees of Jammu and Kashmir to remember widows, orphans, labours, transporters, people affiliated with tourism and poor and needy living below the poverty line, Wani said “underprivileged sections of the society have been seriously and badly hit first by abrogation of Article 370 and now by unprecedented lockdown amid Covid 19”.
Conveying his hearty Eid greetings to the entire muslim Ummah in general and the people of Jammu and Kashmir in particular Wani prayed for end to pain and sufferings of the people of Jammu and Kashmir .
