COVID-19: Distt Admin Ganderbal declares Village Gutlibagh a Red zone

Ganderbal : The District Administration Ganderbal Friday declared village Puttermulla and Pahlipora of Tehsil Lar as Red Zones and its surrounding villages Kondbaland Batporaas Buffer Zonesafter two COVID-19 positive cases one each from village Puttermulla and Pahlipora have been detected on 06 May 2020 from CD Hospital Srinagar and Bone and Joint Hospital Srinagar respectively.
Invoking prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC and Disaster Management Act, 2005, District Magistrate Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal said there would be no inward and outward movement of any person from the villages declared Red Zones and the people would stay in their homes to ensure complete lockdown and warned stern action against the violators as per provisions relevant Act.
The District Magistrate Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal and ADM Ganderbal Farooq Ahmad Baba visited the areas to monitor the situation and said it becomes imperative to take stringent precautionary measures of complete lockdown by declaring villages as Red Zones and surrounding villages as Buffer Zones to break transmission of the disease in the area.
Besides 37 people from Puttermulla and Pahlipora have been quarantined who are the primary contacts as per the initial reports, he added.
Meanwhile, The Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Wullar Mansbal Development Authority, Abdul Majeed (7889585995) who is nominated as Administrator of Red Zones and Buffer Zones was directed to ensure facilitation of medical emergencies and supply of essential commodities as per laid down protocols in the villages covering both local residents and outside laborers and Tehsildar Lar was directed to ensure the implementation of the directions in letter and spirit.
