Nothing concrete has been done to contain the COVID-19 from further spreading in India. This is because the government of the day has other core focus points as most of the political executives are hardly bothered about the dangerous consequences of any further spread of this deadly endemic in the country. India, as predicted by top medicos, could become the COVID-19 hotspot with an avalanche of new cases coming up after a fortnight, and there would be 10 times increase in daily cases. The containment measures that proved successful in other parts of globe would not work here. India’s population is little less from China, that does not give India any advantage. What is to be counted here is population density, that makes all the difference. India’s population density is 428 persons per square kilometer as compared to 148 persons in China. India is among top countries spending least on health sector. India only spends 3.7 percent of their total GDP on health sector. The India’s fragile health sector is another challenge that in no circumstances could meet the challenges. The corrupt government and inefficient bureaucracy would add fuel to the fire. China’s vast health sector and committed health workers paid off for China which is you cannot have here in India. Social distancing is another measure that could work, but here this too would fail in India. This works with only middle class population living in cities. India’s cities have large slums which could intensify the spread of the virus. Another roadblock is befooling of people by India’s top leadership including the Prime Minister. Instead of taking concrete measures they befool people with bogus statistical data…
The reasons that could help in explosion of this bomb are:
1. Lack of awareness among masses.
2. Unhygienic hospitals and public institutions.
3. India’s drowning economy.
4. Hinduvta as core focus of Govt.
5. Lack of support from Health related think tanks.
6. Idle NGO’s and other social groups.
7. Low standard hotels, restaurants and Dhabas.
8. Lack of concrete measures on part of officials Local governing bodies.
9. Dependence of people on Public transport.
10. Preference to Religion over Science by masses
