Delhi the capital of India witnessed a series of protests, like in other parts of the country which started immediately after the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), against it. Pertinently, the controversial act allows the grant of Indian citizenship to the people of selective religions immigrated from it’s three neighboring countries. Not belonging to a particular religion, a huge part of the the Indian population from all over the country, belonging to all faiths including Hindus and Muslims holding a common opinion that the CAA goes against the constitutional guaranteed equality of the people belonging to diversity of religions in the country, which violates the democratic structure of India, came forward to protest against it with the aim to protect the constitution of India , “according to them”. When the anti-CAA protests got increased by every passing day, emerging Shaheen Bagh as a flash point and an eye opener_where women folk of Delhi continued the sit-in protest for months together, the pro-CCA political groups who couldn’t bare it out, started campaigning in favour of CAA and against the protesters, resulting with the clashes between the two communities with dipolar opinions. However, knowing the fact that India is the Hindu majority country, the miscreants from pro-CAA groups tried to give the agitation a religious colour with the aim to infuse communal riots by spreading provocative speeches against the muslims projecting them the only community against CAA, in order to gain their political mileage. But the reality is that a big percentage of Indian Hindus are also protesting against the act. The clashes erupted with communal disharmony resulted with attacks on religious places, setting the religious places. For their vested interests, various political chefs have tested their spoons to spoil the food, there by have taken situation to that escalation stage which has taken death tool to around 42 and number of injured to hundreds as per the media reports. People have been killed, vehicles, shops and houses have been set ablaze, even schools have not been spared from setting them afire. Markets have been completely vandalized which created havoc in the capital. According to media reports localities such as Bhajanpura, Maujpur, Gokulpuri, Jafrabad and Mustafabad of North-East Delhi witnessed the worst type of clashes. The rioters armed with stones sticks and guns have smashed the picture of areas. “The people are slaughtered like goats and chickens”, a man was seen saying while fleeing in Mustafabad with fear depicting from his face, in a video captured by a reputed international media channel. The religious places were destroyed the holybooks were reduced to ashes as shown by that media reporter in a video. In the same video a mother of three little children, whose husband was killed, was seen appealing the government, while losing her tears, to “spread love instead of hate, give the children a chance to live”.
Good politics should cut across the lines of region, religion, colour, creed and cast. Provocative politics on the basis of either of the above always drags masses to losing end, where the losses turn to be miscalculative with upredicted destructions.
Delhi riots between the pro-CAA and anti CAA people has portrayed a worst picture of Capital, once know by Delhi Hai Dilwalun Ki “Delhi belongs to the dearing people ” has broken thousands of hearts all around the world. Amidst communal riots in Delhi, if the communal harmony incidents have also been witnessed at some places but hate mongers are up in arms to put fuel on fire, being seen on social media barking openly against the opposite religion. Politics cannot devalue the human life by doing politics at the cast of it. People need to know the difference between humans and inhumans. Why shouldn’t people get a chance to live with harmony. Good politics should cut across the lines of region, religion, colour, creed and cast. Provocative politics on the basis of either of the above always drags masses to losing end, where the losses turn to be miscalculative with upredicted destructions. Good sense should prevail among all irrespective of religion, goons need to be unmasked, and they who want to give the riots a communal colour should be dealt with strict action. Social media users shouldn’t share videos of senseless people who provoke people against any religion.
