Pertinently, SSP Ramban Anita Sharma, ADC Dr. Basharat Hussain, Dy. SP Traffic Suresh Sharma and officers from     Police, Army and civil administration are supervising the arrangements for   stranded passengers besides monitoring road clearance and related works.

DDC informed that the district administration immediately started road clearance operation following a landslide that occurred last night blocking the 270-km highway, the only all-weather road connecting Kashmir with rest of the country at Maroge and Anokhifall in Ramban district.

DDC directed the executing agencies to station adequate men and machinery to remove landslides instantly from national highway to avoid traffic jamming and traffic breakdown besides ensuring traffic worthy road.

Earlier, the DDC monitored arrangements being made by the administration for stranded passengers and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements being made by the administration for convenience of stranded passengers from Chanderkot to Banihal. He informed that the administration is providing accommodation, food, heating arrangements and medicines to the stranded passengers in coordination with locals, NGOs and PRIs.
