Budgam: The Budgam administration has constituted special market-checking squads to check black marketing and profiteering by business establishments in the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, said the market-checking squads have been constituted to ensure fair-pricing of commodities after the closure of the National Highway.
The squads will consist of FCSCA, Legal Metrology, Revenue and Police officials and will be headed by concerned Tehsildars.
The DC said the market-checking squads will ensure no violations occur in markets across the district and strict action under law is taken wherever violations are found.
She said the market checking will remain in place while the National Highway is closed in order to check profiteering and black-marketing.
Dr Sehrish while warning the business establishments appealed the general public to report instances of overpricing to the DC Office.
