CEC Kargil inspects snow clearance work on Kargil-Srinagar road

Kargil : Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan convened a meeting at the Council Secretariat here Thursday in order to review the position of snow clearance work on the Kargil-Srinagar Road
Executive Councilor for R&B Nasir Hussain Munshi and Project Vijayak authorities also participated in the meeting. It was decided in the meeting to deploy one dozer from zero point to India gate to ease up the snow clearance work which is getting delayed due to the poor work performance.
It was given in the meeting that the road is expected to be cleared by tomorrow evening subject to clear weather conditions.
The CEC and the EC R&B hailed the efforts of the officers and the men and machinery of project Vijayak deployed to clear the road from Minamarg to Zero Point. They said their efforts have been appreciated by the council and such gestures are anticipated from them in future as well.
Meanwhile, the MLA Kargil Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai has also taken up the issue for early clearance of the Kargil Srinagar road with the Advisor to Governor B B Vyas and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan to stress upon the authorities of Project Beacon to speed up the snow clearance work from Sonamarg side so that the stranded passengers and vehicles from both ends of Zojila could cleared at the earliest.
