Our Jammu and Kashmir is worldwide famous for its position on the world map, it’s unique culture and tradition. So to retain this specialty of our state, and to continue journey on the track of development at par with other parts of the world, upgradation of necessary infrastructure and facilities deserves immediate attention. Looking at the fast track development taking places in other parts of the world we come to conclusion that the present age is the age of competition. On one hand the world is developing by every passing day, but on the other hand this development is bringing with its some complications also which are becoming the issues of global concern. These issues are environmental, poltical, social, and economical in nature. To deal with these issues, this developing world is throwing up challenges for people who can shoulder the responsibility to tackle with these global issues as well.
Unfortunately our state is state is through most difficult times this time . If we look at the execution of duties and responsibilities by the people at the helm of affairs in our state, we come to the conclusion that the execution is totally unsatisfactory. Because of the inefficient work culture, selfish attitude and corrupt nature of the people overseeing the affairs of the government, our state is still lagging back among other states of the country in the field of development. The tall claims of successive regimes don’t withstand the situation on ground as people are still facing shortage of basic amenities, like proper road connectivity , portable drinking water facility, uninterrupted electricity etc. All these basic facilities are almost dysfunctional in all remote areas in the state. In addition to that, the authorities are yet to come up with a transpatent job policy for thousands of those daily wagers , who are working since decades in different departments in our state.
Though 2014 devastating flood didn’t cause a big damage but if another flood hits valley the people can suffer huge losses of unimaginable proportions . The people hit by the September 2014 floods effected particularly traders are still claiming that government failed to rehabilitate them. In a key sector like education the irony is that some permanent employees ( Rehbar–e-Taleem Teachers) are being denied salaries as per 7th pay commission recommendations. The casual approach of a few bureaucrats and their political bosses is forcing thousands of teachers to come on the streets for holding anti-government protests. The state is embedded in corruption to such an extent that deserving people are of deprived of the right to facilities guaranteed them under the constitution. To allowing unending red tapism to breed ground, benefits are extended to people selectively to firm up the roots of unlawful practice of favouratism . For this corrupt system, the people not working in government and people working in the government. The people who are working in government contribute immensely to the growth of corruption in government offices and overtly and covertly they find on their side the people who are not directly linked with government.
As it is dead impossible for a particular state or country to excel in the field of development until and unless the corruption is not eradicated from the plagued system which we have built up. So the need of hour is to rectify this ailing system to save future generations from its victimization and all this can not happen overnight, but, can be made possible slowly and steadily. Now if the system is to be rectified, it is also difficult to rectify it as a whole. Then what is needed, is to bring the change at individual levels also. Each and every individual whether working in the government or n ot has to bring a change in himself.People leave it unnoticed , because of their hustle and bustle in this materialistic world. It is an old saying that “time and tide waits for none” and better for people to do for changing the system which has made our society redundant. People come, live and ultimately leave this world, but successive generations leave their memories behind. When the journey of life for one generation is over, the next generation is there to take over. Every generation has to play a part to secure the future of coming generation. So our children, the asset of ours have to be ready to make this transition continue, after our turn is over.
The best way to give right track to this derailed system is to prepare the next generation for positive change. The generation which is next to ours, are our children. They are the people, who after the end of our turn, have to take the charge of present ministers , Officers, doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers, politicians, leaders and other responsible citizens. So how successful they will prove, depends on how compatible, honest, dedicated helpful they will be to carry out their responsibilities honestly. Our children are the resource called human resource. They are the stock before us and can bring a positive change. They need to be shaped well to handle the things efficiently and honestly in future, in order to uplift the deprived society and to face each and every upcoming competitive challenge on this fast developing planet. If there would remain a deficiency, in terms of their above mentioned required capabilities to deal with any upcoming situations , that will be directly reflected to the role played by we people, as parents, as teachers and as responsible citizens. As little droplets of water make a sea, likewise every person is a constituent part of this whole system. So if we are serious to bring a positive change, we have to change ourselves first. Then and only then we can prepare our children, who are our future, to behave the way we behave. The parents and teachers have an important role to play. They need to mould the attitude of young generation desirably for the betterment of our faulty system in future. We need to build up the spirit of ethical behaviour and honesty among the children so that they will come up with a corruption free system in future.
