Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik on Monday asked the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) chairman Justice (retd.) Bilal Nazki to use his good offices in saving the lives of fifteen boys “falsely implicated by police” into the lynching of a DySP in Nowhatta.
Malik, according to a statement issued here Monday, met with the SHRC chairman and urged him to take cognizance of two petitions.
“In one of the petitions, JKLF chairman has raised the issue of dozens of young boys who according to them have been falsely implicated by police in the killing of DSP Muhammad Ayub Pandit in June 2017,” said the statement.
“JKLF chairman told Chairman SHRC that 15 incarcerated boys – Aadil Siarj Misgar, Davood Fayaz Zargar, Juwaiz Hassan Khan, Arooj Aafaq Bhat , Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Arsalan Mushtaq Bangri , Seerat ul Hassan , Sheikh Khalid Rasool , Imran Nabi Wani , Owaise Muneer Bhat, Danish Rahim Mir, Sameer Ahmad Khan , Danish Ayoub Badoo , Musawir Bhat and Bashir Ahmad Bhat – met him at central jail Srinagar recently when he was lodged there and narrated their stories of innocence in the said lynching case.”
Emphasizing over the need of thorough investigation into this matter and initiating a fresh unbiased enquiry into the cases of these young boys by SHRC, Malik asked chairman SHRC to use his good offices for saving the lives and careers of these boys so that no injustice is done to them .
In another petition, JKLF chairman has cited the case of ailing Syeda Asiya Andrabi and Fahmida Sofi who are languishing in Jammu jail from a long time.
“Yasin Malik asked SHRC to take note of these gross human rights violations and ensure that inmates are treated fairly.”
JKLF chairman also asked chairman SHRC to look into the plight of thousands of inmates languishing in various jails and police stations and take a note of the use of black laws like PSA against common people and peaceful political activists.
