New Delhi: The Supreme Court today declined to take on suo motu basis the matter pertaining to the sad incident of Gorakhpur.
The plea filed by one Rajeshwari Reddy sought a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe and suo motu cognisance into the matter.
A Bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Jagdish Singh Khehar refused to interfere in the Gorakhpur case.
The CJI, while hearing the plea, filed by Reddy, observed that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister was personally taking interest in the unfortunate incident.
