Jaitley visits slain RSS worker’s house

Thiruvananthapuram: Senior BJP leader and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today visited the house of slain RSS worker Rajesh as part of the party’s intensified campaign against ‘state-sponsored political violence’ in the Left Democratic Front-ruled Kerala.

Jaitely drove straight from the airport to the residence of Mr Rajesh, who was killed allegedly by a group of CPI(M) activists last week, even as the CPI(M) lined up a group of family members of those party workers who were killed in RSS/BJP violence in Kerala before the Raj Bhavan, demanding Jaitley to visit their houses also.

Accompanied by party state unit president Kummanam Rajasekharan and other senior leaders in the state, Jaitley visited the house of the slain RSS karyavah at Sreekaryam and consoled the family members. Jaitley’s visit assumes political significance as the BJP had already taken up the issue of political violence at the national level. The RSS was demanding either a judicial or central agency probe into the political violence unleashed by the ruling CPI(M) in the state.
