Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arriving on a day-long visit to Assam tomorrow to review the situation in the aftermath of devastating floods, which has claimed over 80 lives. Sharing the itinerary of the prime minister, state cabinet minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma said here today that Modi is expected to reach Guwahati airport around 1000 hours. He will then review the situation in the aftermath of the floods with the chief minister, other ministers and top officials at the Assam Administrative Staff College premise here. Later, he will address a joint legislative party meet of BJP and its allies AGP and BPF at the same venue. Dr Sharma said the focus of the visit would be on finding lasting solutions to the flood and erosion problems. He added that the state government will also submit a memorandum to the prime minister over the problems. At least 82 people were killed and over 25 lakh population affected in 29 districts of the state in floods in Assam this year so far.
