Patna: The ruling grand alliance plunged into deep crisis today when RJD Chief Lalu Prasad affirmed that his son and deputy chief minister Tejaswi Yadav would not resign from his post and asked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to decide his future course of action if he considered grand alliance a burden. After chairing a meeting of RJD legislature party at his official residence at 10, Circular Road here, Mr Yadav told newspersons that Mr Kumar had never demanded resignation of Mr Yadav. He said the grand alliance government would run for five years and if Mr Kumar considered it a burden, then he would decide his future course of action.
In yet another irritant for Mr Kumar, Mr Prasad also made it clear that Mr Yadav would not give point wise reply in public to CBI charges levelled against him, refusing to accept Mr Kumar`s suggestion in this regard. Reacting to JD (U) spokespersons` demand for point-by-point rebuttal to CBI charges by Mr Yadav, the RJD chief said, “I and my son would give reply at the appropriate forum as JD (U) is not the police”. CBI had booked FIR against the RJD chief, his son and his wife and former chief minister Rabri Devi and others in the land for railway hotels case earlier this month.
