Armed Forces bid farewell to Pranab Mukherjee

New Delhi: Outgoing President Pranab Mukherjee has praised the armed forces of the country and paid rich tributes to the martyrs and their families for the sacrifices made by them for the nation.
Mr Mukherjee, as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, extended his best wishes to the armed forces and their families during his address at the farewell banquet hosted by the Chief of Staff Committee, last evening here.
The prestigious occasion witnessed presence of Vice-President M Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley and Service Chiefs along with senior military and civil officials of the services and the Ministry of Defence.
The function was hosted at the Manekshaw Centre here.
