Chennai: AIADMK Amma General Secretary today appeared before an Economic Offences Wing Court in connection with a FERA violation case via video conferencing from the Bangalore Prison where she has been lodged following her conviction in the Disproportionate Assets case. The Enforcement Directorate authorities framed charges against her in connection with alleged FERA violations in transactions, including remittances for a transponder and uplinking charges for the erstwhile JJ TV channel in 1995 and 1996. After questioning her, the ED framed the charges. Later, she denied the charges. The court had already framed charges against her nephews V N Sudhakaran, who was producd before the Magistrate yesterday by ED with tight security from Bengaluru prison, and his brother V Bhaskaran.
