New Delhi, Jun 8: The Naval Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba today said that Indian armed forces are ready for any contingencies and maintained that comparing the Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat with Gen Dyer of Jallianwala Bagh massacre is a “sad” comparison.
“Such comparisons are sad,” he said in reference to remarks from senior CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat.
Talking to reporters after a function here, Admiral Lanba, who is also the Chairman of Chiefs Committee, also said that Pakistan army has developed an habit of hiding the number of casualties on their side but maintained that it is their “internal matter”.
Brushing aside Chinese reservation, the Naval chief maintained that there was nothing wrong in India undertaking joint exercise with Singapore and said, “We will continue to hold joint military exercises with friendly countries in South China Sea”.
Courting controversy, CPI(M) leader had flayed Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat for his “unbecoming” attitude towards the Kashmir issue.
