New Delhi, Jun 3: The much awaited EVM challenge organised by the Election Commission was held today with CPI(M) expressing satisfaction with the Electronic Voting Machines, without having a try at tampering with the machines.
However, another participating party NCP had some reservations though it also did not attempt tampering with the EVMs.
Addressing a news conference on the EVM challenge here, CEC Nasim Zaidi said, ‘CPI (M) said it did not want to participate in the EVM challenge but wished to understand the process.
‘ CPI-M clarified its doubts, he said.
The CEC said the CPI-M expressed complete satisfaction and suggested the poll panel to hold awareness sessions proactively.
