New Delhi, Jun 1: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today cautioned the BSF Jawans against spreading social media messages without discretion, underlining that the platform was being used by enemies to spread rumours.
Mr Singh was speaking after giving away police medals for gallantry and meritorious services at the BSF Investiture Ceremony here.
‘There are attempts by the enemy to spread rumours through social media, and sometimes our Jawans and officials forward them directly on WhatsApp and Facebook, I appeal to you not to forward them in any case till they are found to be authentic and in the national interest,’ he added.
The Minister underlined to the BSF Jawans that they did not just have responsibility of border security but also of the country’s unity and integrity.
Speaking about the recent incidents of violence in Kashmir, Mr Singh said the Government was working on a plan to install a three-tier security system in the border areas.
