Yechury says job loss made worse by Modi Govt’s ill conceived policies

New Delhi, May 27: The CPI (M) has blasted the Modi Government saying it assumed office promising ‘Acche Din’ for the people and creation of two-crore jobs every year but the reality was job loss, made worse by ill-conceived policies.
Though the BJP Government assumed office promising ‘Acche Din’ for the people and creation of two-crore jobs every year, but job creation in eight major industrial sectors in the country was lowest in the past eight years and only 1.
35-lakh jobs were created in these sectors in 2015 and 2.
31-lakh jobs last year.
Even the IT sector reported a dismal picture regarding job creation and estimates were that nearly 50 to 60 per cent among the 40-lakh workers in the IT sector would be rendered redundant, Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechury wrote on the three years of BJP Government in an article ‘Double Whammy for the Indian People’, appearing in the coming issue of the party organ “People’s Democracy”.
