New Delhi, May 27: Bihar Chief Minister and JD (U) President Nitish Kumar today attended a special lunch hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in honour of the visiting Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth.
While the event may not have much diplomatic meaning as the visiting dignitary’s forefathers hailed from Bihar and the State Chief Minister might have been invited only from that perspective, the fact that JD (U) leader attended the same on the invitation of Prime Minister Modi certainly has a political significance.
It is significant to note that both Nitish Kumar and PM Modi also held a separate meeting.
“The Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri @NitishKumar met PM Shri @narendramodi in New Delhi today,” said a tweet from the PMO India twitter handle.
Nitish Kumar yesterday stayed away from the luncheon meeting with the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and a galaxy of other opposition leaders.
