New Delhi, May 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed over hundred heads of Indian Missions in foreign countries gathered here for brain-storming sessions on how to implement the country’s foreign policies more effectively.
The conference, whose proceedings are kept confidential, was inaugurated by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj yesterday.
Around 125 heads of missions are attending the three-day conference.
The meeting is an annual affair that gives an opportunity to policymakers and envoys to interact with each other on important matters in foreign policy.
The rise of India as a potential third largest economy of the world and it increasing global economic footprint along with new and emerging threats to regional and global security has thrown up a heavy agenda for such meetings.
